VAL DE LOIRE leaving Plymouth back in November of 2001

The much loved VAL DE LOIRE leaving Plymouth back in 2001, we were just starting a voyage that would take us to Santander, a regular service the ship kept for over 10 years, the famous fury of the Bay of Biscay was waiting for us, the ship navigated against force nine for a period of the trip, as usual she coped extremely well and we only arrived 90 minutes late at our destination, precious memories that will last a lifetime, I was and still am very fond of black and white photos so quite pleased to share these with the followers of this blog.

THE MUCH LOVED "VAL DE LOIRE"

the MV VAL DE LOIRE served BRITTANY FERRIES very well for 13 years mainly on the Plymouth/Santander service, she is over 31.000 GRT and has a cruising speed of 20 knots, I have great memories of this great ship, sailed many times on her, experienced exquisite food as well as some really rough seas, photos here shows the vessel during a Christmas cruise to Le Havre in 1999 and at sea
